In this portfolio, I am proud to show some of my different projects and creative work. Here you can see the things I have made and the ideas I have explored during my studies.
Internship
P&R Visual Merchandising
I completed a six-month internship at P&R Visual Merchandising, a company that transforms stores into visually captivating experiences. They create window displays, in-store presentations, decorations, and visual communication for a wide range of major brands, including Nike, Douglas, Auping, and Karwei. Because they had a large team of 26 colleagues, they were able to give stores all across the Netherlands the same consistent look.
During my internship, I had the opportunity to collaborate with talented colleagues and takepart in designing and executing window displays and in-store presentations. I developed key skills in translating creative concepts into striking visual presentations, combining colors, materials, and products effectively, and crafting store environments that truly engage customers. This experience also strengthened my teamwork, project planning, and execution abilities, giving me a hands-on understanding of professional visual merchandising from concept to completion.
What I really enjoyed about this internship was that I got to work with many different people, had a lot of variety in my tasks, and could really work with my hands.

Nike
Nike is one of their clients. Together with P&R, I had the opportunity to visit Nike’s European headquarters, which was an incredible experience. There, we were given the chance to work on the styling for test products that were still in the design phase. It was amazing to work with these items and garments, and during this process I learned a lot about visual merchandising.
I learned how to combine colors effectively, how to present clothing properly, and how to style mannequins professionally. Since the collections had not yet been released, we were not allowed to take any photos of the clothing. However, I was able to take a few photos of the headquarters itself, and the shope the had there.
Karwei
Karwei is also one of their clients. Although Karwei is mainly known as a hardware store, they also offer an large range of furniture. In the autumn, the focus is on indoor furniture, while in the spring the outdoor collection takes center stage. During the spring round, we were given the task of presenting the outdoor furniture in the best possible way. We created a warm and inviting atmosphere by carefully styling everything with cushions, vases, candles, andblankets. It was one of the most enjoyable parts of my internship.

Douglas
Douglas is a store that sells beauty products such as skincare, makeup, shampoos, and more. We visited the store weekly to update the window display and showcase the newest products or bestsellers. This is where I truly learned how to work with smaller items and pay close attention to composition. I also gained valuable experience in professionally applying window stickers.
Auping
Auping is a store that sells high-end beds and bedding. The company works with a spring and autumn collection. I whas there during the spring round, tasked with styling the beds using the new collection. It required careful attention to match the right bedding with each bed and to style everything elegantly with cushions and throws. Since Auping is a luxury brand, it is essential that the in-store presentation reflects the same level of quality. Therefore, we had to ensure that everything was presented flawlessly and meticulously.

Client projects
During my studies, we regularly work on assignments for real clients. In these projects, we are challenged to develop innovative concepts and fully elaborate them into professional proposals. We usually carry out these assignments in teams of two or three fellow students, allowing us to collaborate, make use of each other's strengths, and achieve a strong final result together.
Tinny house
We were tasked by a client to design a tiny house in her garden for her teenage son, who would be living there. The design needed to making optimal use of the available space. Additionally, the interior and overall design had to reflect her son's personal taste. At the same time, we had to consider the future: once her son moved out, the space needed to be easily convertible into a studio for the client herself.
We started by creating numerous sketches and mood boards to explore our ideas, which were then approved by the client. We fully developed the concept in Vectorworks and produced realistic visualizations by rendering the design in Lumion. This approach allowed us to present a professional and convincing final result.

Dress for sucses
For this project, we worked for Dress for Success, an organization that supports immigrants in finding employment and helps them prepare effectively for job applications. Since a neat and professional appearance is crucial for a successful application, the organization offers a wide range of second-hand clothing and older collections donated by various brands.
Our challenge was to transform the store into a warm, inviting, and inspiring environment where visitors immediately feel comfortable and welcome. It was also important that there were enough places where they could hold the conversations. Since it is is a non profit compeny. So this had to be achieved on a limited budget while using sustainable materials.
We began by assessing the existing situation and determining how to build upon it. Next, we fully developed the concept in Vectorworks and created realistic visualizations by rendering the design in Lumion.

The before
The after

Stadsschouwburg
The Stadsschouwburg is a venue where theatrical performances, musicals, art exhibitions, and much more take place. I worked on two projects here, for which we had to create a photo or a series of photos. This experience taught me how to translate creative concepts into visual materials and how to effectively engage the public through striking promotional displays.
De Neehorn
De Neehorn (The Nohorn) is a very popular children’s book about a unicorn born in Paradise, a place full of sunshine and rainbows. Yet, he doesn’t feel at home there. To everything he is asked, he replies “no”; he wants to leave Paradise and sets out in search of the ‘Nowhere’, a place where he can truly be himself. Along the way, he meets a variety of friends who are just as unique as he is, such as the Kis my ass dog, What beer, and others.
A musical adaptation of the book was set to be performed at the Stadsschouwburg. Our task was to create a series of three photos capturing the essence of the ‘Nowhere’. The ‘Nowhere’ is not explicitly described in the book, so I drew on my own childhood experiences whate was the places where I could escape from the rest of the world and be alone with my thoughts? I remembered building enormous forts in my room with blankets and cushions, and that feeling became my interpretation of the ‘Nowhere’. With our photos, we wanted to truly capture the wide-ranging imagination of children. For the finishing touches, I refined the image in Photoshop.
Warming up festival
For the Warming Up Festival at the Stadsschouwburg, we were asked to create a photo based on the question: “If you were eighty, looking back on your life, what should you have done differently for the environment?”
I chose to focus on fast fashion. My own overflowing wardrobe and the constant urge to keep buying made the theme immediately personal and relevant.
Since we weren’t allowed to use any text, the image had to communicate the message on its own. In my photograph, the model is fully dressed but still holding multiple overstuffed shopping bags. Clothes spill out of them, almost swallowing the model, symbolizing the waste and excess produced by the fast-fashion industry. For the finishing touches, I refined the image in Photoshop.
With this image, I want to show how easily we drown in overconsumption, and how crucial it is to make more conscious choices before it’s too late to change the story we look back on.

Photoshop
At school, I took lessons in Photoshop, where I learned to edit, style, and combine photos into creative compositions. These lessons strengthened my digital skills and helped me professionally develop and present visual ideas.
Physical collages
At school, we also work a lot on creating Physical collages, and I really enjoy doing this because it allows me to be fully creative and just do my own thing.
Styling
At school, we also had styling classes where we learned to work with a wide variety of materials, such as clothing, fabrics, furniture, and accessories. What I enjoyed most about these classes was being able to work hands-on and get creatively involved. Additionally, I learned many different techniques during these lessons, which helped me further develop my skills and creative approach.
Wooden panels
We learned how to work with wooden panels by cutting, painting, and layering them to create a striking abstract artwork. Finally, we styled and installed the piece within a space, transforming it into a visually engaging focal point.
Fabrics
We had to create a dress code for a formal gala, so we chose “super glamorous,” a kind of red carpet style. First, we made a mood board to visualize our ideas for the dress code. Then, we developed this further by selecting fabrics, which we pinned onto a mannequin to achieve the desired result.
Table styling
We also had many lessons on how to beautifully style a table. I found this really enjoyable and have even tried it at home, for example during Christmas or my 18th birthday.
